yeah, I’m aware this is likely because of a half assed RHD to LHD market modification.

That’s why all fuel doors should be housed in the taillights like this:

Couple other good ones I can think of off the top of my head:
To get to the cabin air filter on my Volvo C30, you had to remove the accelerator pedal to get to the carpet to get to the little access area.
On early MINI Coopers, the hood release is ON THE PASSENGER SIDE...

Believe it or not, that was the first vehicle I was ever driven around in. Pretty neat thing.

On a Mazda5 there was a lockout preventing you from opening the sliding door if the fuel filler lid was open.
But then again you could just open the OTHER sliding door because PROGRESS.

I was informed the factory manual for the ~2008 Honda Pilot states that you have to saw (Yes saw) a plastic panel behind the glovebox to change the cabin air filter. That’s one way to show its never been done. Imagine the Barrett Jackson auctioner.... “Original cabin air filters shown by the intact plastic panel”

I’m surprised that Mitsubishi actually moved the sliding door at all. Also, the
RVR Sports Gear
is kinda interesting...

probably a legal thing. if you have one door it has to be on the curb side or some such rando law

The hood release on the Cooper makes sense when you realize the latch that is releasing is right next to the passenger head light. It’s entertaining watching someone figure that one out and then get really confused trying to find the safety catch (which is right next to the driver’s side head light).
EDIT: You can see the catches in this photo, just inboard of the fender liners

In my 1980 Plymouth Champ (aka: Mitsubishi Colt), the pedals had shafts that went to the passenger side and if my friend tucked his feet behind the heater box he could press down on the brake lightly or push up on the gas.

I do dealership photography and for all the used cars I shoot I need an engine pic.
The mini was the only car I had to Google because I couldn’t find it for the life of me. I was literally on the ground looking everywhere through the grille and under the steering column.

I was able to find the passenger release on mine pretty easily. Took me another 10 minutes to find the safety catch.
